Service Agreement

Work Agreement between the Customer and Handyman Express Idaho (HEI).Permits, Setbacks, Specific Home Owners or Covenant Requirements: Customer is responsible for any required setbacks or permits or special homeowners criteria required for home color or appearance or structural changes. Customer should contact their local homeowners association, Covenants, or building permit department to secure approval and required paperwork for project.

Painting: Painting: Paints or Stains, cannot be returned once purchased. If HEI purchased based on customers request, customer will be responsible for paint material costs even if not applied.

Fence: Customer should notify, in writing, any special items they are aware of in the ground around the work area. Anything that Dig Line does not locate. Dig line only locates public utilities, i.e. Gas, Electric, Water. HEI will notify Dig Line when required.

Siding: Matching existing siding can be very hard due to many siding companies going out of business, due to inferior quality. We will do our best to acquire the siding that matches the closest to existing siding. Customer should know that most older siding is no longer available and must be replaced with the closest matching product.

Partial Replacement: Warranty only applies to replaced part in a multi-part item, not the complete unit, or parts not replaced. Customer provided materials: HEI does not warranty material items that are provided by customer. At HEI’s option the labor to reinstall may be discounted if appropriate.

Digging, Excavating, or soil modifications: Estimate is based on normal soil conditions free of large rocks or rock beds. If either condition exists customer will be notified and given choices before continuing on.

Alerted issues to customer: When problems or deficiencies are alerted to the customer and the customer chooses to NOT address the issue/s then it is the responsibility of the customer to assume any liability of what damage the deficiency may cause or result in.

Damage caused by HEI: Any item damaged by HEI will be repaired or replaced. Replacement will be equivalent to existing item before damaged. Customer should move any items in project area if possible to avoid damage to item/s.

Non-Complete: If conditions cause HEI to stop working before completion, HEI will only charge for time and materials used up to that point. Estimates or quotes will be pro-rated accordingly.

Safety or Harassing Environment: If it is determined that the work site poses a safety or harassing environment it is the option for HEI to stop work and charge for time and materials up to that point. Examples: Dangerous environment due to Pets, People, or Chemicals, or anything that would pose a non- safe or harassing work environment.

Dual Party Agreement: HEI will ask for an agreement when ever more than one party is involved in a project. Example: Customer A damaged Customer B’s fence and Customer A is responsible for fixing fence. Agreement signed by Customer A and Customer B

Material Returns: Some materials may not be returned after purchase and customer will be responsible for, material costs that cannot be returned, or restocking fee charged by vendor to return.

Non-Visible Issue: In the case where issued are discovered after starting job, the customer will be alerted and given choices to clear up problems before proceeding. Normally issues can be solved with Time and Materials costs above any estimated cost given. Example: Rotted wood when opening walls or Mold present. Customer Provided Materials: We do not warranty the materials provided by the customer. At HEI’s option we may discount labor to repeat the installation of defective materials.

Colors and Styles: If customer chooses to have HEI pick colors or styles on item/s customer should be specific and be available to confirm choices before installation or application. Without specific color specification or style number/s HEI will do the best to choose the color or style requested, but the customer will be responsible for material charges that are special order or mixed or not returnable.

Option Selection: When an option is given on estimate or verbally please ask any necessary questions so that you, the customer, understand the trade-offs each option gives. It is the customers responsibility to understand the options given and any differences between different options.

Example: Seeding vs. sodding. Seeding is slower, has more weeds come up, and is harder to get a good turf quality, but is much cheaper than sodding.

Multiple Technicians: Multiple technicians are available if customer requests this option. There is an additional charge for additional technicians when the customer requests this option. If customer chooses to have more than one technician work on project they should state this before estimate is given or a new estimate will be provided. Estimates are given based on one technician unless otherwise noted on estimate. If HEI chooses to have additional technicians on a project the customer will not see the normal additional charge. This is an option HEI will use at its own discretion.

HEI Provided Materials: HEI will not be held responsible for materials that do not perform as specified by manufacturer or vendor. We do our best to select the best quality possible but make no claims to the usability of manufacturers or vendors materials. Customer should pursue the issue with the manufacturer or vendor of the product to see what they will do to compensate the customer for lack of material quality.

Safety: When performing work for customer HEI will take reasonable steps to ensure the safety of occupants during repairs or improvements. Customers should use extreme caution when walking or traveling around the improvement area and stay out of the area. HEI, when appropriate, will mark improvement areas to deter entry, and customer should take extra caution to not enter improvement/repair area due to hazards that exist during improvements/repairs. Customer should plan other paths to avoid traveling through improvement areas, whether barricaded or not.

Estimate: Is a good faith estimate of the planned repairs or improvements. Estimates can vary based on changes in plans or increased difficulty beyond what was previously noted. HEI will do the best to not exceed estimated amounts unless project becomes larger in scope or more material or time is spent due to customer requests. The estimate given by HEI is a courteous to the customer to allow them to know the approximate dollars cost of their proposed project and is in no way a guarantee of costs associated with improvement or repair.

Quote: Is a firm dollar amount, for specific documented items listed on quote. This is a binding contract between HEI and the customer and will be addressed according to state and local laws governing quote contracts excluding any specific items specified here. It is very rare that HEI will do any quotes since HEI normally functions on a time and material basis. If improvement or repair are quoted, and customer requests other items, that do not appear on quote, then HEI has the option to issue a change order, with documents actions and amounts for approval. Any time spent on change orders will be charged at the existing HEI hourly rate. If change order is not accepted HEI will complete the work previously quoted and charge the additional work order time on final invoice above the quoted cost.

Reschedule:If you find that it is necessary to reschedule please do so 48 hours in advance. If more that one reschedule on a project occurs, there will be a $35 reschedule fee for each reschedule.

Customer Directed Actions: (CDA) Are as is. These actions are performed according to customers instructions and HEI takes no responsibilities for results or consequences of actions that may occur. No warranty is offered on this type of service due to customers instructions being different than what would normally be done by HEI.

Discounts: Any discounts listed on Invoice will be revoked if invoice is not paid within 15 days after issued to customer.
